Round Jebel Rum Trek

CLASSIC

Circumnavigate Jordan's second-highest peak

A spectacular full-day trek (9 hours with rests) that circles the entire Jebel Rum massif. This classic route takes you through diverse terrain: past Bedouin camps, over mountain passes, through granite riverbeds with Thamudic inscriptions, and across desert valleys with stunning views of Rum's west face.

Lawrence's Spring area

Lawrence's Spring (Ain Abu Aineh)

A moderate half-day hike to the famous spring where T.E. Lawrence bathed during the Arab Revolt. The trail winds through narrow wadis and scrambles up rocky sections to reach the cool, shaded spring with its ancient Nabataean inscriptions.

Khazali Canyon

Khazali Canyon Walk

An easy, short walk into a spectacular narrow canyon filled with ancient rock art. The 100-meter gorge features Nabataean and Thamudic inscriptions, including images of ibex, camels, and human figures. The canyon walls tower overhead, creating a cool, shaded environment.

Burdah Rock Bridge

Burdah Rock Bridge Trek

A challenging full-day trek to Wadi Rum's highest natural arch. The route involves desert walking, canyon navigation, and a final scramble (Grade 3) to stand atop the dramatic 35-meter-high bridge. The views from the arch are among the best in Wadi Rum.

Jebel El Mayeen

Jebel El Mayeen Ridge Walk

A pleasant half-day ridge walk immediately north of the Rest House. This 1,100m peak offers excellent views of the Rum Valley and the walls of Jebel Rum and um Ishrin. The south ridge route is straightforward with some easy scrambling sections.

What to Expect

🥾 Terrain

Sand dunes, rocky wadis, granite riverbeds, narrow canyons, mountain passes, and desert plains. Good hiking boots essential.

🌡️ Weather

Best season: October-April (15-25°C). Summer is extremely hot. Nights can be cold (0-10°C) in winter. Always bring layers.

💧 Water

Carry 2-3 liters per person. Our guides know all natural springs and water sources. We provide additional water on longer treks.

🏕️ Camping

Multi-day treks include Bedouin-style camping: sleeping mats, blankets, traditional meals cooked over fire, and endless stars.
